When preparing a presentation put yourself in the audience, and ask yourself what they might not understand or find boring., If you are nervous or suffer from stage fright,, practise your presentation and revise it until you can present it with ease., Try to be informative and entertaining, because people do not only expect facts, but also some appeal to their emotions., Avoid making silly jokes, because they may suggest an unprofessional attitude and your listeners might not respond favourably., Stick to the plan of the presentation and don’t digress, because you might not find your way back to your topic., Judge the acoustics of the room, and speak loudly and clearly at a moderate , natural rate., Speak to the audience,, not to the display screen behind you, Avoid appearing nervous, by slowing down your speech, making pauses for emphasis and smiling., Maintain eye-contact with the audience and look straight into the eyes of a person for three seconds at a time,, but every now and then also glance at the whole audience., Use your hands if you want to emphasize points, but don’t indulge in using too many gestures., Apologize if you are wrong, but never apologize for your nervousness or for insufficient preparation., Plan smooth and logical transitions between elements of your talk, so your audience can easily follow you., If someone asks you a question after your talk, take a moment to reflect so you can give a balanced and informed answer., Keep an eye on your time, and never exceed the limit..
