Today, I’m going to talk about the big question: how are things different now from long ago., Life has changed in many ways, especially in how people communicate, get news, go to school, wash clothes, cook, and travel., First of all, people communicate very differently today., Long ago, people often wrote letters or talked to each other face-to-face., However, today we can use smartphones, emails, and the Internet., For example, we can send a message to someone in just a few seconds., Another big difference is how people get news., In the past, people often read newspapers or listened to the radio to get news., Nowadays, people can watch the news on TV or read it online., As a result, people can find out what is happening in the world much faster., Schools are also different from schools long ago., In the past, students usually wrote with pencils or pens and learned from books and teachers., Nowadays, students can use computers, tablets, and the Internet to learn., For example, they can watch educational videos and find information online., People also wash clothes differently today., Long ago, people usually washed clothes by hand., It was hard work and took a lot of time., However, nowadays, many people use washing machines., As a result, washing clothes is much easier and faster., Cooking has changed a lot, too., In the past, people often cooked over a fire or used simple cooking tools., Nowadays, we can use electric cookers, microwaves, ovens, and other modern appliances., Because of these inventions, cooking is usually quicker and more convenient., Finally, travelling is very different today., Long ago, people often travelled by horse, boat, or train., In contrast, today we can travel by car, bus, train, and airplane., Because of modern transportation, we can travel to faraway places much faster., In my opinion, life today is easier and more convenient because of modern technology., On the other hand, people in the past may have spent more time together and enjoyed simpler activities., To sum up, communication, getting news, schools, washing clothes, cooking, and travelling have all changed a lot over the years., Personally, I prefer life today because we can communicate quickly, learn more easily, do housework faster, cook more conveniently, and travel to different places.
