GRADE 1 - least severe: hyperemia (increase blood flow) and edema of involved area, GRADE 2 - large clear to milky, fluid filled blisters with partial thickness skin necrosis, GRADE 3 - small blister that contain dark fluid and the affected body part is cool, numb, blue, or red and does not blanch. Will require debridement, GRADE 4 - most severe. Blisters , numb, cold and bloodless, necrosis extends into muscle and bone. Gangrene develops. May require amputation,
