We learn of the quarrel between the King and Queen of the Fairies. Helena, following Demetrius, also enter the forest., Titania sleeps and Oberon annoints her with the flower juice tha Puck has brought for him to cast a magic spell. Lysander and Hermia enter the forest and sleep. Puck mistakes Lysander for Demetrius and annoints him with the love potion. Helena and Demetrius enter: Lysander wakes and falls in love with Helena., The Mechanicals enter the wood to rehearse. Puck casts a spell on Bottom and puts an ass head on him. Titania awakes and falls in love with Bottom as a donkey., Oberon learns of Puck's mistake when annointing Lysander instead of Demetrius. Oberon tried to rectify this by enchanting Demetrius. He also awakes and falls in love with Helena, who is being pursued by Lysander. Hermia enters, having discovered that Lysander left her whilst sleeping and confronts Helena: they almost fight. Puck tried to remedy the situation one last time by re-a¨nnointing both Lysander and Demetrius., Oberon feels remorse when he observes Titania doting on Bottom/Donkey. He reverses the spell. Theseus and Hippolyta enter the forest, on a hunt. Lysander and Hermia receive his permission to marry. Helena and Demetrius also pledge to marry., The Mechanicals are fretting because they don't know where Bottom is and they are to perform the play the next day. Bottom appears., The Athenians question whether the experiences in the forest were real or a dream. The Mechanicals perform the play, disastrously. Theseus and Hippolyta, Lysander and Hermia, Demetrius and Helena all wed.
