Reliable and affordable services can reduce traffic congestion and improve access to employment., Presenting an argument in favour of something, Critics, however, argue that expanding public transport networks is extremely expensive and that the money could be better spent on improving existing roads., Presenting an opposing viewpoint, For many years, scientists assumed that adult brains were incapable of producing new neurons. More recent research has challenged this view., Challenging a previously accepted belief, In one study, participants who spent time in natural environments performed significantly better on attention tests than those who remained in urban settings., Providing evidence to support a claim, One major reason for declining biodiversity is habitat destruction. As forests are cleared for agriculture, many species lose access to food and shelter., Explaining the causes of a problem, Taken together, these findings suggest that protecting urban green spaces should be regarded as an essential part of long-term city planning., Drawing a conclusion
