Annette: I left the music room at 8.40 and went to get my music from the drawing room, Ian : I had a pipe and a glass of ... with Herbert out in the corridor. No one else joined us. I left about 10 to 9- I had promised Lionel a game of billiards., Herbert: Ian and I had a pipe and ... in the corridor. We were both there till about 8/50 when Ian left saying he had arranged to play billiards with Lionel., Lionel: I was probably the last person to see Xavier alive. I was chatting to him in the conservatory till Ian came to get me for billiards., Margaret: I listened to Ian and Herbert for a bit,then went on into the drawing room- about half past 8, I suppose. It was boring in there so i went to the library to read for a bit, Herbert: I finished my wisky and was about to go in wheAnnette came out and I stayed to chat. That was about 10 to 9 I think, or a bit after. Yes, we all heard the scream., Ian: I went to the conservatory to get Lionel at about 10 to 9. He was there with Xavier. We went on to the billiard room leaving Xavier alone.That was the last we saw of him!, Lionel: Ian and I left the conservatory about 5 to 9 . We got to the billiard room but could only find one cue . We were hunting for the other when we heard the scream., Margaret: I needed a pencil to write something down and remembered I had left my bag in the parlour, so i went to get it at 8.45, something like that?, Annette:I was about to return to the music room when I met Herbert.
