Rosa Parks was born in 1913 in Alabama AND her parents were former slaves SO she was African American., FIRST, she attended a school for blacks only BECAUSE schools were segregated in Alabama., THEN, she worked as a seamstress., AFTER THAT, she worked as a secretary for the NAACP WHERE she met her future husband, Raymond Parks., ONE DAY, she was in a bus AND she was asked to give her seat to a white person BUTshe refused., CONSEQUENTLY, she was arrested AND fined $14., SHORTLY AFTER, a bus boycott was organized TO protest against segregation in buses., The boycott lasted for more than one year. FINALLY, segregation in buses was outlawed.,
