1. Singular (1), ____ nouns always have an article a or an if we talk about them for the first time. 2. We use the article ____ before countable nouns which begin with vowels (a, e, i, o, u). Example: an apple. 3. We use the article ____ before countable nouns which begin with consonants (b, c, d, f, g, h, j, k, l, m, n, p, q, r, s, t, v, w, x, z, and usually y). Example: a banana. 4. We add an ending –s/es only to ____ nouns in plural (many). Example: an apple – apples; a potato – potatoes. 5. We don’t use the article a/an before ____ nouns and we don’t add an ending –s/es to them.
