: The boys hated Mrs Pratchett because she was mean and filthy., One day the boys found a dead mouse., Roald suggested that they use the mouse to scare Mrs Pratchett., Thwaites suggested that Roald be the one to carry out the plan., Thwaites bought some candy to distract Mrs Pratchett., While she was busy, Roald dropped the mouse into the jar., Outside the shop, the boys congratulated Roald and he felt like a hero., The next day the boys noticed that the shop was closed!, Looking through the window, they could see broken glass and the mouse on the floor., Thwaites suggested that Mrs Pratchett had suffered a heart attack., Roald worried that he was a murderer!, The following day after assembly all the students were told to line up outside., The Headmaster and Mrs Pratchett inspected the students, looking for the suspects., Mrs Pratchett identified each one and they were sent to the Headmaster's study., In turn, each boy was caned by the Headmaster while Mrs Pratchett watched., Roald Dahl's mother was so angry she went to see the Headmaster., Roald Dahl was told that he would not be going back to that school.,
