Instead of the coursebook picture, I use a personal picture to make the topic more relevant. - Substitute, I carefully select questions from exercises 3 and 7 and turn them into one speaking task only. - Combine, I change the cultural references in the text (e.g. Thanksgiving → Ferragosto) so students can relate. - Adjust, I bring in realia to add a kinesthetic element to the lesson. - Magnify, I reuse the audio clip to practice sentence stress instead of meaning comprehension. - Put to other use, I skip the matching exercise (or some items) because students already know all the words. - Eliminate, I move the writing task to the start of the lesson as a diagnostic tools instead of using it as homework. - Rearrange,
