Moving the production from goods from industrialised countries to newly industrialised ones has benefits for both., Despite these benefits, however, there are significant environmental costs of the globalised manufacturing systems., One such cost is increased carbon dioxide emissions and the issue of the carbon footprint of each product manufactured in this way., My research presentation aims to examine current outsourcing practices and analyse the environmental consequences of this system., First, I'll introduce the issue and then I will analyse changes in the carbon footprint of goods when production is moved to another country., The results show that differences between production systems can lead to increases in the carbon footprint of the traded products.
