1) It is a mitzvah to recite kiddush over a cup of wine on Shabbat and Yom Tov (Pesach, Shavuot, Sukkot, Rosh HaShana) 2) Kiddush is said before the nighttime meal and before the daytime meal, but the main kiddush is said at night 3) Kiddush can only be said "bemakom seuda" which means in the place you are having your meal 4) If you don't have wine/grape juice, during the nightmeal you can make kiddush over bread, and during Pesach over the matzah! 5) On Pesach we have 4 cups of wine and the first one is for Kiddush
