When I first arrived in Australia at 16, I was ecstatic about everything. The plane touching down in Sydney ____ me, and I soon realized that no amount of preparation could have prevented the culture shock I experienced. Culture shock goes beyond discomfort and homesickness; it includes a "novelty ____" where everything feels new and exciting. However, this feeling doesn't last forever.
