Plug in microscope, Turn on light, take a piece of onion skin and place onto a slide, put a coverslip on top, place this slide onto the stage of a microscope, select the lowest magnification objective lens, if the onion cells are blurry turn the focus wheel until they are clear, to see the onion cells in more detail increase the magnification.
