We talk to them often on the phone and sometimes visit them or they come to our place., What is the difference between UK and Ukraine holidays?, In the UK, we have Boxing Day on December 26th which is a public holiday for sales and visiting friends. We don't have this in Ukraine. Ukraine has holidays that the UK doesn't have. For example, we celebrate St. Nicholas Day in December, where children get small gifts under their pillows., What did you do in Ukraine? What was your job?, I have a degree. I worked as a pharmacist in a pharmacy. I worked as a police officer., Which British traditions have you adopted since moving here?, I really enjoy the tradition of Sunday Roast and how polite people are., What Ukrainian traditions do you keep?, We keep our traditions at home. We cook Borscht and Varenyky (dumplings). Sometimes we wear Vyshyvanka (embroidered shirts) on special days. Also, my children love the tradition of St. Nicholas Day; they always look for small gifts under their pillows on December 6th.".
