Learners don’t have much language to communicate with., Their problem, not mine., Provide them with the language they need!!!, Activities don’t go on for long as learners run out of things to say., Keep activities short and manageable., Aren't they people? Don't they have ideas/opinions?, Learners start using L1 to complete the task because it's easier and they don't see the point in communicating in L2., They're lazy. Encouraging them to use English is not your job., Did you provide them with the language they needed to complete the task?, Learners don’t take turns or listen to each other., Give learners a reason to listen. Also, encourage respect by modeling it., How rude of them. They should've been taught to respect e/o by their family members., Learners aren’t interested in talking about this topic., They should've opened their eyes while buying the books and enrolling., Make activities and tasks more personalized/relevant to them and choose sth they're motivated to talk about., Learners don’t see the purpose of the activity/task., I'm sick and tired of this generation man., Design tasks that encourage them to use English for real purposes which they can relate to their own lives., Learners aren’t able to organize their thought effectively., Give them time to prepare in pairs or groups before they have to speak so they have plenty of ideas., They can't even organize their desk. I feel you., Learners are shy or embarrassed to speak., Don’t put them under the spotlight, let them work in pairs or small groups., Give your student a therapist's phone number., Learners are at different levels of fluency., Just introduce the weak ones as a downgrade case to the educational team already!, Plan pairings or groupings carefully and experiment with putting them in W-W, S-W, S-S pairs and see how it works.
