Some require 4-6 years of additional study., Certification - A person has fulfilled requirements of education and performance and meets the standards and qualifications established by the professional association or government agency that regulates that career field., Registration - Granted by a regulatory body that administers examinations and maintains a current list of qualified personnel in that career field., Licensure - Authorizes individuals to work in a given occupation. Obtaining and retaining this usually require that a person complete an approved educational program, pass a state board test, and maintain certain standards., Accreditation - Ensures that a program of study meets the established standards and prepares students for employment in the health career., Continuing Education Units (CEUs) - Additional hours of education in a health career area during a specified time period that is required to renew licenses or maintain certification or registration in many states., Entrepreneur - An individual who organizes, manages, and assumes the risk of a business., Health Care Core Standards - Specify the knowledge and skills that the vast majority of health care workers should have., Therapeutic/Diagnostic Core Standards - Specify the knowledge and skills required to focus on direct client care in both the therapeutic and diagnostic occupations., Therapeutic Cluster Standards - Specify the knowledge and skills required of workers in health occupations that are involved in changing the health status of the client over time., Diagnostic Cluster Standards - Specify the knowledge and skills required of workers in health occupations that are involved in creating a picture of the health status of the clients at a single point in time., Information Services Cluster Standards - Specify the knowledge and skills required of workers in health occupations that are involved with the documentation of client care., Environmental Services Cluster Standards - Specify the knowledge and skills required of workers in health occupations that are involved with creating a therapeutic environment to provide direct or indirect client care.,
