1, I'd like to discuss an issue with you. We have an issue with our wage structure., 2, Oh? What's the issue with the wage structure?, 3, Well, we still haven't recovered from the pandemic. So, we're asking if you would like to continue with a 10% reduction in wages, 4, 10% reduction?! Sorry, but I can't agree to that. How about if you just paid me my full wage, as I was promised?!, 5, Sorry, I'm not in a position to accept that. My boss told me we need to lower everyone's wages - mine included. How about if we offered you remote work?, 6, Remote work sounds good. My concern is that you won't return the 10% once we recover from the pandemic, 7, I promise we'll give you your 10% back when we recover. I think that would be fair. So, it sounds like we have a deal. Do you have any concerns about our deal?, 8, Yes, I have one more concern....will remote work be permanent?, 9, No, it won't. I can't agree to that. Remote work will be temporary, 10, Sorry. I'm afraid that isn't possible then. If you want me to give up 10% of my salary, you better make remote work permanent!, 11, How about we meet halfway? You'll accept temporary remote work and in return we'll only lower your salary by 5%?, 12, 5%? Interesting preposition. Now, suppose I had an offer from our competitors who offer me a full wage AND remote work, what would you do then?, 13, I'd be very sad. Please don't leave us :(
