The BRSM is a youth organization in Belarus., , It's goals are to promote patriotism, develop youth's initiatives, involve young people into useful public activities and encourage their creative expression., , The BRSM was created on the 6 th of September, 2002., , The BRSM has two official symbols: an emblem and a flag., , The emblem has a red bar with the initials BRSM written in gold and a green bar with a gold olive branch., , The flag of the BRSM has the same elements as the emblem., , In order to join the BRSM the applicant must be between the ages of 14 and 31., , The main activities of the BRSM involve the promotion of Belarusian patriotism., , For example, young people participate in memorial ceremonies all aroud the country and present flowers to veterans of the Great Patriotic War., , The BRSM members are also involved in various outdoor activities and sports including camping, football, running, swimming, skating and ice-hockey., , Social events such as concerts for youth of Belarus, flash mobs are held by the BRSM as well., , Yuong people take part in competitions with other members from within the organization as well with other organizations similar to the BRSM all over the world., , The BRSM supports the youth volunteer movement in Belarus and organizes construction brigades., .
