Orientation - We learn that Ponyboy lives with his brothers Sodapop and Darry. They are in a gang called the Greasers., Conflict - Ponyboy goes to the movies and gets home late. Darry is very angry at him and slaps him. Ponyboy runs away from home, Rising Action - Ponyboy and Johnny go to the park. Bob and Randy find them and attack them. Johnny stabs Bob to save Ponyboy's life. Ponyboy and Johnny escape town and hide in an old church, Climax - They hide in the church. A group of school children come to the church and a fire starts. Johnny and Ponyboy save the children but Johnny gets badly hurt. Johnny dies in hospital and his family doesn't come to see him before he dies. Ponyboy, Sodapop and Darry realise how important family is and say they love each other very much, Falling action - All of the Greasers are very sad that Johnny has died. Ponyboy is sick in bed with grief. The boys have to go to court about Bob getting stabbed, Resolution - The judge in the court says that Ponyboy and Sodapop can stay with Darry. They are very happy and they love each other very much. ,
