Gestation - The process of carrying or being carried in the womb between conception and birth, Fertilization - Occurs when a male’s sperm cell joins with a female’s egg, Zygote - Single cell formed from the union of an egg + sperm, Uterus - Muscular organ inside the female’s body where the embryo is protected and nourished, Embryo - Mass of cells during the first 8 weeks of conception, Implantation - When a fertilized egg attaches itself to the endometrium (uterus wall); it typically happens 10-14 days after conception.
