1) Start small. If you want to take up running, don’t run five kilometres on the first day. Try running for five minutes on the first day, six minutes on the second day, and so on. 2) If you want to start a new habit, add it to what you already do every day. For example, if you want to read more and you also drink coffee every day, read before you drink coffee or while you drink it. 3) Ask a friend to keep you motivated. For example, they could call you several times a week and ask how the new habit is going. 4) Do the new activity for 30 days. After that, it will become a habit.
