Stage 1, The Address in the PC is copied to the MAR, Stage 2, The MAR locates the instruction and adds it to the MDR, Stage 3, The MDR send the instruction to the CU, Stage 4, The CU directs the Program Counter to increment to the next instruction., Stage 5, The CU decodes the instruction, Stage 6, The CU directs the ALU to carry out the Instruction, Stage 7, The ALU carries out the instruction, Stage 8, The cycle repeats and goes back to the PC
