Firstly, The crowd began to arrive calmly and organised., By 12pm, Several hundred police constables were led onto the field forming two lines in the crowd that were only a few yards apart. This line went all the way to the main stage area., Around 1pm, Henry Hunt, the main speaker, arrived and was taken to the stage area., Just after 1pm, Around 60 cavalry men began to arrive, some people were even saying that they appeared drunk., By 1.40pm, Cavalry was ordered towards the front to arrest Hunt and the rest of the people talking. The horses were sent into the crowd through the gap that the police constables had made., By 1.50pm, They were trying to stop the meeting and Henry Hunt was arrested. It took around 10 minutes to get the crowd broken up., After the event,, Rioting began, and it took until the next again morning to regain peace in Manchester!.
