Start by writing a description of the diagram. You can use the question to help you identify the key ideas, which you can paraphrase. You do not need to find a synonym for key words such as "fish" or "salmon"., Write an overview describing key information about the process. Is it cyclical or linear? How many stages does it have? Where does it take place? How does it begin and end? For example: "This natural process takes place in rivers and the ocean. The salmon goes through three main stages of development, beginning as eggs in the river, and ending as salmon in the ocean.", Sometimes there is an extra piece of information in a separate part of the diagram. This information is not part of the process itself, but can help to understand the diagram., Don't try to find synonyms for technical language / specific names in the diagram. Words such as "open sea" / "small stones", however, can be paraphrased as "oceans" or "pebbles". If you feel it is hard to think of a synonym, do not try to use one. Just use the word in the diagram., Try to use different ways to describe repeated information, e.g. in this diagram you need to include time periods (approx 4 years etc). How can you avoid repeating the word "approximately"?, Sometimes the number of each stages is not exactly clear. Make sure you understand how you will divide the diagram into stages before you start writing. .
