The Control Unit controls the flow of data around the CPU by following the fetch, decode, execute cycle, The Program Counter increments by one whenever an instruction is fetched from the RAM, The MAR holds any memory address about to be used by the CPU, The MDR holds the actual data or instruction about to be used by the CPU, The Accumulator stores any on-going calculations carried out by the ALU , The ALU does all the calculations in the CPU, The Cache is very fast memory in the CPU, it stores regularly used data.,
