Introduction to the topic - Teacher shows pictures and tell learners about a woman who lived with her husband but could never be left alone because of her fear of spiders., Preparation for the task - Teachers tells students they have to brainstorm 3 consecutive steps they might take to help cure the woman of her phobia., Task - Students brainstorm and list possible ways to help the woman get over her phobia., Planning - Pairs practise how they will explain the steps they recommend to cure the woman’s phobia, and how they will justify the order of these steps., Report (and Feedback) - The pairs tell the class their proposal and justify them. The other pairs listen and make short notes on the recommendations that different from theirs., (optional Reading/Listening) - Teacher gives out a text about a woman who has a phobia of spiders. Students look at their notes and try to find in the text the similar recommendations and different recommendation. The teacher provides feedback., Post-task (Language Focus) - The teacher provides delayed correction.
