1) There was clearly differentiated work to ensure that all learners were suitably challenged and supported to make good progress. 2) All learners were engaged and working diligently on the equations. Some learners were supporting each other to clarify the task. Some learners participated less than others in feedback so it was not clear whether they had understood. 3) The session was clearly well planned. It was well delivered with confidence, enthusiasm, and good humour. Questioning was used to assess learners. There was a good balance between individual, pair and group work so that all learners were able to learn not only from the tutor but also from structured discussions with peers. 4) All 4 learners were learning and applying new knowledge to tackle GCSE problems. Tutor also provided useful tips how to approach exam questions. 5) All learners were engaged and catered for. There was allowance for diversity of learner ability and L1. 6) The activity was well-resourced, with clear signposts for research. 7) The materials were accessible to all learners all the less confident ones would have benefitted from more rigorous and more frequent checking of understanding through more smaller tasks.
