We LIVE very close to the city., timetabled events in the future (train, bus, etc.) and programmed events.  The plane LANDS at 5 o'clock tomorrow afternoon., things that we do regularly. Dad usually DRIVES us to school., We use PRESENT CONTINUOUS for: actions in progress at the time of speaking. Mandy IS WRITING an article about Australia., actions that are in progress around the time of speaking. I AM STUDYING for my final exams., future plans that we have arranged and they usually refer to the near future. We ARE MEETING outside London Zoo tomorrow afternoon., to describe what is happening in a photograph or in a scene. The lady IS BUYING fruit at the market., actions that are temporary. My cousins ARE STAYING with us for a couple of weeks.,
