do not take life which God has made sacred, treat your enemy mildly he may be your friend one day, but if they incline towards peace, you must also incline towards it and put your trust in God, do not kill each other for God is merciful to you, God does not like arrogant boastful people, those who have been attacked are permitted to take up arms because they have been wronged - God has the power to help them, do not contribute to your destruction with your own hands, but do good, for God loves those who do good, do not cut down fruit bearing trees, if they incline to peace, then incline to it [also], do not destroy an inhabited place
