Too many students come to school by car. (students / walk or cycle, use public transport / benefits environment), Every year, we get new books. This is a waste of paper and bad for the environment. (people / not write in books/book sale / at end of year), Why do we all think we need new trainers and the latest smartphone? (buy less stuff/look after things / last longer), There's nowhere to put our waste paper and drinks cans so everyone throws them in the rubbish bin.(recycling bins / at school, put in playground), In the winter, the school is always really hot, and this isn't necessary if we wear warm clothes. (turn down heating / at school,save energy / fewer greenhouse gases ), We need to stop throwing our clothes away after we've worn them a few times, then buy new ones. (organise / swapping event, reuse / things we don't need ), When people finish school, they leave all the lights and computers switched on and the doors open. This wastes a lot of energy. (turn off lights and computers, shut doors / stop heat escaping), When things get a bit old or broken, we just throw them away and buy new ones. But surely it's better to fix things rather than throw them away? (start / repair shop, use things / longer )
