Nursery school - From the age 3 to 5. Not compulsory. Children learn some elementary things such as numbers, colours, and letters., Infant school - Children don’t have real classes. They mostly play and learn through playing. From the age 5 to 7. Compulsory., Junior school - Compulsory. Children have real classes, when they sit at desks, read, write and answer the teacher’s questions. From age 7 to 11., Grammar Secondary school - Children are 11 or 12 when they go there.  Secondary education of a very high standard. Compulsory. Entrance is based on the test of ability., Modern Secondary school - Don’t prepare pupils for universities. From the age 11 to 16. Gives good prospects for practical jobs. Compulsory. , Comprehensive Secondary school - Pupils study there untill they are 16. Take pupils of all abilities without exams. Focus on practical skills and scientific subjects like chemistry and engineering.,
