take 2 measuring tapes to a field, place one tape measure along the width of the field and one along the length, use a random number generator to get 2 numbers , use these numbers as coordinates, one person stands along the x axis tape measure at the first coordinate number, a second person stands along the y axis tape measure at the second coordinate number, both people walk away from the tape measure at right angles, where they both meet, place a quadrat on the ground, count the number of daisies inside the quadrat and record in a table, repeat for 9 more corrdinates, calculate the average/mean number of daisies per quadrat, multiply this by how many quadrats can fit in the area of the field.
