Infancy (0-2yrs) - learn that they can trust others to care for them and meet their needs. They enjoy life with others. This is the start of give and take in relationships. They show more social independence from their parents and develop friendships with other children. They initiate or join in play with other children, adolescence (puberty - 18 yrs) - peer groups become more important, and adolescents spend more time with them than their families.
