CONCAVE LENS - A concave lens is wide at the edges and narrow in the middle. Convex lenses cause light rays to converge (move towards each other, to meet at a single point)., DENSITY - If the particles of a material are very compact (close together) we say the material has ‘high density’., FOCUS - The point at which light rays meet., LIGHT - A type of energy. Light is an electromagnetic wave that is visible to humans., LONG SIGHTED - Light waves travel in straight lines, at a speed of 300 000 000 meters per second in a vacuum., SHORT SIGHTED - If a person is short-sighted, light entering the eye focuses before the retina. Nearby objects appear focused, distant objects appear blurry., NORMAL - All angles are measured between the ray of light and the normal., REFLECTION - When light ‘is incident on’ (hits) a surface and is not absorbed but instead reflects off (bounces off) the surface., REFRACTION - The change in direction of a wave passing from one medium (material) to another, caused by its change in speed.,
