1) EYE CONTACT a) I prefer to look people in the eye when I talk to them. b) I prefer to avoid direct eye contact. I think it is disrespectful. c) I look people in the eye, but then I look away quickly. I don't want to seem aggressive. d) I worry that people who don't make direct eye contact are not honest. They are trying to hide something. 2) SILENCE - Some cultures are known as 'silent' cultures. They dislike interruptions and prefer to take time to reflect and think before they reply. a) I am uncomfortable with silence. If someone is silent I prefer to say something b) I am comfortable with silence. If there is silence in the conversation, I do not need to break it by talking.  c) I like to pause and reflect before I answer what someone else says. d) I hate it when people interrupt.  e) I don't mind when people interrupt. That is normal conversation, isn't it? It shows they are interested. f) If people are silent, I don't know what they are thinking. I can't trust them. 3) BODY LANGUAGE - the way you use your hands, the way you stand or sit and how close you are to other people are all part of your body language. a) When I talk I use my hands to emphasize what I say. b) When I talk I use a lot of gestures with my hands and arms.
