ARGUMENT #1 ____, the people who run the lotteries are taking enormous amounts of money away from people who can not afford to lose. ____, the elderly couple down the street from me spent over $20 in lottery tickets last week, while they only have their social security checks to support them. ARGUMENT #2 ____, I feel like this particular kind of gambling, where no skill is required on the part of the player, is especially offensive to the intellect. ____, scratching a sheet with a quarter can be done by a 4-year-old child. ARGUMENT #3 ____, the government should not be running a business that can be harmful to its citizens. ____, many suffer from gambling addiction, and the government of all people should not be profiting from these people. CONCLUSION ____, there are many reasons why I think lottery games should be banned.
