"push" production - production is based on orders from last year (a forecast), "pull" production - a product is made when the customer orders it, batch production - products move through a production line in groups of parts, one piece flow - products move through a production line one part at a time, line balancing - making the work time even (about the same) for all work stations, a bottleneck - when the flow of material "gets stuck" between two work stations, causing a "back-up", a kanban - a visible instruction card or sign used in a production line, point of use storage -  all materials and tools are stored at the workstation where they are used, "quality at the source" - each employee is responsible for the quality of the final product, lead time - how long it takes to make (and deliver) a product,
