Two types of waves - mechanical and electric magnet, Medium - any type of matter disturbed by energy, waves - chains of vibrating molecules, This can travel through air and liquid - sound, These travel through the ground - seismic waves, Electromagnetic Waves - x-rays, visible (travels through empty space) light, infrared, microwaves, and radio waves, Mechanical Waves - (needs matter to travel through) ocean, seismic, sound, Transverse Waves - moves at right angles to direction of the energy flow, Compression Waves - moves from side to side, Crest/Peak - top of a wave, Trough - lowest point of a wave, Amplitude - the difference between the peak of a wave and its base (calm part), This tells us how much energy the wave is carrying - amplitude, wavelength - distance between 2 peaks/crests, If a wave has a long wave length it mean this - low frequency (wave is not happening a lot), Sound travels through these - compression waves, wavelengths are short - Example of a high frequency wave,
