wish + Past Simple: a type of dream or hope, to describe a situation we would like to be different, after I/he/she/it, we can use were instead of was, for things which are impossible or very unlikely, to talk about things in the present or future, wish + would + V: to criticise people, we want smt/smn to happen or stop happening because we are annoyed, wish + Past Perfect: to talk about things that happened or didn't happen, to talk about things in the past, for past regrets , if only: a stronger and more dramatic way of expressing a wish, use an explanation mark ....!,
