It’s a new day in a new house. Maura has just moved ____ her new house. There are packing cases and a couple of suitcases ____ the floor of the entrance hall. Maura is holding a clothes hanger and goes to put it into a closet. She hangs it on the rail. Just ____ closing the door, she hears a strange sound coming ____ the closet. When she opens it again, she sees two hangers on the rail, swaying slightly ____ themselves. Maura feels a little puzzled and puts her head ____ the corner of the door, but finds nothing else ____ the closet. As soon as she closes the door again, there is another sound in the closet. Quickly Maura pulls the door ____, and now finds four hangers. She tests what is happening by quickly opening and closing the door ____ a couple ____ times. Each time, the hangers double in number . In the next scene Maura has taken all the hangers out ____ the closet and spread them ____ ____ a table. She stands thinking ____ a few seconds and then her attention is caught ____ a scary doll on the table ____ the hangers. She takes the doll and puts it ____ a shelf ____ the closet, expecting to find two dolls when she opens the door ____. She was right: the closet is magic and anything you put inside doubles ____ number. She calls ____ to her partner David to come ____ have a look. She shows him what happens ____ opening and closing the closet door. ____ this stage she is not scared; ____ she looks amused. She even asks him to get ____ the closet, saying she wants to try something. David agrees and goes ____, and Maura shuts the door ____ him. She opens the door expectantly and sees…a completely empty closet. Again she looks ____, feeling disconcerted and rather worried. She opens and closes the door a few time and you can see she is starting ____ panic. ____ thinking for a couple of seconds, she walks ____ some trepidation ____ the closet herself. When the door closes, at ____ nothing happens, all is dark and quiet, but ____ she hears a sound coming from ____ the closet, ____ of footsteps running past. She slowly comes ____ of the closet and stares down the empty corridor. Then her double looks ____ the door of the kitchen, sees her, and draws ____ into the kitchen. Maura calls ____ her to wait, and as she goes to follow her, she comes ____ the body of David, lying face down on the floor. Suddenly another David appears ____ her and bashes her ____ the head with a frying pan. We are left with Maura and David looking ____ each other. Are they the originals ____ the doubles? What will happen ____?
