1) You go out for lunch with a friend. He claims he forgot his wallet but promises to repay you if you foot the bill. You have seen him twice since and he has not offered to repay you. 2) Weeks ago, you received a printed invitation to a seminar at a hotel, but you didn’t see that it said the dress code was business attire. You enter the conference room in casual clothes to see everyone else is wearing suits. 3) You are out on a date with a new person. You think that the date is going to be a flop. You are not sure if you should stick it out or think of a reason to ditch him/her. 4) You are at a restaurant in the USA. The waiter was rude and the food was mediocre. You don’t want to leave a tip but your friend says you ought to because it’s the custom. 5) Your partner has just given you a shirt for your birthday. It’s hideous. You are thinking of asking for the receipt so you can exchange it for something else. 6) You are on the bus and an older woman gets on. All seats are occupied. You don’t know whether to give your seat to her because it might offend her. She looks like she could be 65 years old. On the other hand, she could be much younger. 7) The boss has organized a team-building exercise this weekend. The event is paint balling. You don’t want to go, but you don’t want people to think you’re anti-social. 8) One of your co-workers smells as if he doesn't shower at all. When he stands anywhere near you, you can hardly breathe. 9) Your friend wants to be a singer. Everyone (but her) thinks that her voice sucks. You are considering suggesting her that she try another career path. 10) Your aunt wants to add you as a ‘friend’ on Facebook. You don’t really want family prying into your online social life. But, you know she’d be upset if you didn’t add her.
