Strategy / Support: providing that little bit of extra help for students, allows students to obtain learning through a variety of learning modalities (visual, kinesthetic, auditory), can also support English language learners in accessing the content and synthesizing new information (i.e Total Physical Response), may be layered with steps to aid in accessibility of task/activity, allows students to attain, and apply learning to current and future tasks, progress monitoring is not always required but could be if the team decides to use as a support/strategy as an intervention, Intervention: delivered with specific frequency and duration over a defined time period, specified steps to target area of identified need (SMART Goals), delivered in a variety of intensity levels (daily, weekly, “x” minutes, over “x” time period, etc.), progress monitoring occurs frequently and continuously to determine effectiveness of intervention so that adjustments can occur if needed, delivered in a variety of settings; small group, one on one, in or outside of the classroom, led with targeted support and not in isolation; students should not be working on an intervention independently such as on an online platform without direct and explicit instruction,
