This includes following a prescription, labeled instructions or negative consequences., Drug misuse - Taking medication or substance for reasons other than prescribed or appropriate though not for the purposes of getting high or for fun. This might include taking an additional dose of a medication, accidentally taking medication, using someone else’s prescription or self-medicating., Dopamine - A neurotransmitter made in a person's brain that plays a role as a "reward center" and in many body functions., Develop - to grow or cause something to become larger or more advanced., Susceptible - open or particularly prone to something, Dependence - A state in which an organism only functions normally in the presence of a substance, experiencing physical disturbance when the substance is removed., Withdrawal - A set of symptoms that are experienced when discontinuing use of a substance to which a person has become dependent or addicted., Abstinence - The fact or practice of restraining oneself from indulging in a risky behavior, Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) - refers to the percentage of alcohol in a person's bloodstream. This can be measured within 30-70 minutes after drinking., Tolerance - results in a need to increase the dosage of a drug overtime to obtain the same original effect obtained at a lower dose., Intoxicated - A person who is drunk or under the influence of drugs., Drug abuse - Using any substance for the purpose of feeling good or getting high. Abuse might also include the use of a substance for purposes outside of the recommended dosage for the purpose of creating an intensified response- either euphoric or depressed. This might include using a prescription medication too frequently in order to achieve the desired results (thereby developing a tolerance to the substance), repeated, chronic use of a substance, or exceeding the recommended dose.,
