You've studied French for 5 years at school in London and spent four weeks on a study exchange programme in Paris. You understand, read and speak French pretty well and want to continue improving as you know it'll be useful to you one day although you're not sure how exactly. You're currently busy with a demanding uni course and can't afford lessons at a language school., You're from Tokyo and you've just moved to San Francisco with your daughter and your partner who has got a job there. You've started English lessons but they mostly focus on grammar and vocabulary, which you already know mostly from your English lessons at school in Japan. The problem is that your speaking and listening skills aren't very good. You'd like to get out more, get to know people and communicate with your daughter's friends but you lack confidence. People think you're shy but that's really not that case!, You're a teenager preparing for your end of school exams and your parents have decided that you should also take the Cambridge C1 exam. You've done lots of past papers but you keep getting the same score and it's barely a pass. You feel that you're not ready for the exam and will fail, especially at the writing and use of English parts..
