1 - Input instruction/command sent to the control unit, 2 - The instruction/command is copied from the control unit to memory, 3 - The program counter holds the address of the next instruction to be executed., 4 - The address is copied into Memory Address Register from the program counter, 5 - The address goes down the address bus to locate the data/instruction, 6 - The contents in the address register move along the data bus to the memory data register, 7 - The instruction/data is then sent to Current Instruction register (CIR), 8 - Data is stored in the accumulator to be used by the ALU, 9 - The instruction is then processed by the ALU, 10 - The control unit will then send the processed data to an output device, 11 - The content in the program is now incremented by one to the next address to be executed,
