The theme is not simply the subject matter of the piece of art, CONCEPT, an abstract idea; a general notion, MEDIUM, can include paint or inks, sculpting materials, fabric, glass, and even sound or living people in some cases, CRITIQUE, is an oral or written discussion strategy used to analyze, describe, and interpret works of art
