As a child, I also learned to play the flute, saxophone, and guitar., At the age of 12, I became totally blind after a soccer accident., I studied law at the University of Pisa and earned a doctorate., To pay for my studies, I performed in piano bars and nightclubs., After graduating, I worked as a court-appointed lawyer for one year., At age 14, I won my first singing competition with the song "'O sole mio"., I became famous in 1992 after recording a demo for the Italian star Zucchero., I became famous worldwide with the hit song "Time to Say Goodbye" (Con te partirò), a duet with Sarah Brightman., I have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, which I received in 2010., I am scheduled to perform at the 2026 Winter Olympics opening ceremony in Milan., I studied opera singing with the famous tenor Franco Corelli.
