arrived at the cloud forest, a group of twelve volunteers, wanted to save the rainforest, my reasons for going on this trip were twofold, collect and bring back, fascinating animals, birds and reptiles, that inhabit this region, had long cherished a dream, see South America, denuded of its flora and fauna, the beneficial influence of civilization, one of those few remaining parts, had escaped this fate, remained more or less as it was, vast lands of untouched, pure, natural wildlife, working together with local people and scientists, learning and seeing new things every day, breathtaking views, in the middle of the rainforest, a two-hour walk from the nearest road, a truly astonishing place, thousands of species, haven’t even been discovered, what really amazed me, everything depends on everything else, for survival, covered in a species of another kind, seed dispersal, necessary for the survival of, provide moisture, climate change is causing, rise by 1–2 meters every year, watch this changing ecosystem, one of my favourite projects, set out at around five o’clock, the air was filled with the sound of, identify the birds, write down our findings, entered all our information into a computer, set up cameras, record pumas, spectacled bears and other large mammals, it was always exciting to, fixed the cameras to trees, a team of volunteers collected the cameras’ memory cards, at least I felt like we were making a difference, however, soon I started, as soon as, most of my time would be taken up in, looking after the animals, wander far from camp, I was eager to, should mention the fact that, stand little chance of, for they know the forest, once the animal is caught, it is your job to keep it alive and well, get precious little back alive
