INTRODUCTION , This study aims to determine the effects of excessive social media use on the study habits of Grade 10 students. In recent years, social media has become widely used among teenagers, raising concerns about its possible impact on academic performance and time management., METHODOLOGY, The study involved thirty (30) Grade 10 students selected through simple random sampling. A researcher-made questionnaire was used to gather data, and the responses were analyzed using frequency counts and percentages., RESULTS, The findings show that 65% of the respondents spend more than four hours daily on social media. Students who reported longer screen time also showed lower levels of concentration during study hours., DISCUSSION , The results suggest that excessive use of social media may negatively affect students’ study habits. Therefore, students are encouraged to manage their screen time properly, and parents and teachers should provide guidance to promote responsible use of social media..
